Bergamot rind

On the soap bottle
I read the words
‘bergamot rind’
and my eyes slide out of focus…

I hear your voice saying
‘bergamot rind’
My mind’s eye zooms in
on your full, wet lips saying
‘bergamot rind’
Then that smirk
That one that says
In your mind’s eye
You’re already bending me over—

Inhale, steady.
The heady, expensive scent of the store
Your thick chains jangling
On your thick wrists
Like they’ll jangle as you
Pull and push me onto your thick—

That smirk again
As you’ll pant in my ear
‘good, be a good baby,
Suck your thumb for daddy.’

That heady scent again
That’ll be in your shower
Making me feel expensive
Warm in my nostrils
Warm jizz zig-zagging down my thighs
Down the drain
A slimy parade of losers
Denied access to my chemically-impenetrable ovum.

I smirk as wet mascara burns my eyeballs
To you this is victory
You captured the unattainable prize
But you just stepped on a land mine
(I’d feel sorry for you
If you weren’t such a cocky mother fucker).

But that all comes later;
‘Bergamot rind’
Smirk, jangle
‘It’s just a fancy name for orange peel.’
